If he or she is over 60,  his or her spouse and children under 18 could apply for visa extension. The following documents are required:

First, the valid passport and residence certificate from the local police station.

Second, the certificate of property, the bank statement to prove you can support yourself during your stay in China.

With all of documents you can apply for one year visa with single, double or multiple entries. There is no limitation for applications.
